PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Wrens are one of the most common and enjoyable backyard birds. Their songs are a joy to hear during any summer day. No other bird takes so easily to man-made housing as does the wren. Therefore, it is a good idea to be prepared for these migratory birds when they return. There are many types of housing available to wrens. However, the most important feature of any wren house is the hole size which should be no bigger than 1” in diameter. The smaller size hole helps prevent other birds from nesting in the house. In addition, wrens are one of the few birds that enjoy nesting in houses that hang. The rhythmic swaying in the wind seems to please them. Therefore, providing houses which hang is always a big plus.

This wren house is an all cedar house that measures approx 8x9x8. We use all 3 fasteners with each house .... nails, screws, and glue: Mother Nature is tough on outdoor items. Nails alone are not enough, glue alone is not enough, screws alone might be ok. However, we use all 3 to create a very durable item. Each house comes with a hanging eyelet secured to the top and all you would need to do is hang it from a hook or attach a small rope to it. The house has a shingled roof for house durability. A roof receives the most wear and tear on an outdoor item. We focus special attention on making durable roofs with all our products. Take care of the roof and then the house underneath lasts longer ..... just like in the homes we live in. 

A unique feature of this house is it's SWIVEL SIDE which will allow you to clean out nests in between nestings. We've made this house design for many years and it is very effective in housing wrens.

 CEDAR SEAL: For an extra $5, we will be happy to seal all item(s) with a high quality sealant called CWF by Flood.  Cedar is one of the best woods to use for outdoor items. It is a wood that can expand and contract with warm and cold weather. It performs very well to outdoor use. After a period of time, cedar will begin to lighten to a silvery gray. However, if you want to keep cedar looking its TAN color longer, then a sealant is recommended. We use a product called CLEAR WOOD FINISH. It is low odor, water soluble, and penetrates deep into the pours of the cedar creating a clear coat of protection and preserving the cedar's tan color. It is safe, odorless, and non toxic.  It does not affect wildlife's use of the product.  They do not even realize that it is there.  We feel it is the best sealant on the market and we personally use it on all our outdoor items.
